Ad Astra Per Aspera
I know that I will try, I will fall, I will hurt my knees until they bleed. I will rise again, and I will fall again, even deeper than where I started. But I know that one day I will succeed, because there is only one thing I have mastered in my life: each time I fall, I keep rising; each time I sink, I look up at the stars and try to touch them.

Who am I?
Do not judge me by how I look
Do not see me as your mirror
Do not think you know me, or that you've seen me before
I'm a dreamer in denial
A Sabbath child
Bonny and blithe, good and gay
A rudderless ship
Adrift on the ocean
Lingering over the beauty of the past
I am still wearing my red hand-knitted dress
I am still decorating our Christmas tree
While the TV plays 'The Box of Delights'

Timemarks
I have a memory from my childhood
Perhaps I was four or five
Or even six
I remember looking down at my feet
As I sat on a swing
Thinking
'Will I remember this moment when I grow up?'
It was such a simple thought
And yet
So momentous
My feet never touched the ground
My hands became one with the chains of the swing
And my body is still swinging
How easy it is
To freeze time
For eons

The Hanging Bed
I was born in a small house that I tried to transform into a palace from my early childhood, but I could never compromise with its size. I never had my own room and I hated sharing it. The lack of personal space would manifest in my visions, leaving me with the bitterness of my unfulfilled ardent desire for one extra room in that small house where I could be alone.
At night, I would dream that my bed was raised above my mother's head, hanging from a single nail on the wall. There, I had my own space to dream. For years, this thought of the hanging bed has haunted me. My mind kept coming back to that bed, my dream bed, the most beautiful bed of all; my bed, my space, my sanctuary from the world's cruelty. Whenever I think of the hanging bed, notes of pure cotton and baby powder come to my mind. My purity still sleeps up there, wearing frothy pyjamas, hugged with Lancelot, my dear teddy bear.
My purity is not lost, it's just forgotten as it hangs from a single nail over my mother's head.

Escape Syndrome
Away from the mundane everyday life, oppression, misery, and workspace slavery. A journey without destination and without plans. Escape and oblivion.
To manage for once in your life to break your chains, get free from your bounds, and for a few minutes, hours, or forever, feel free to enjoy your life the way you have always imagined it.

Seagull
In my dreams I turn into a seagull
I stand bravely on my pale legs
And gaze at my silken feathers
Then I spread my wings in glory
And fly against the gale
I drift over the vast ocean
And cry out to my kin
I can watch the world from above
And dip into the water whenever I want
I can follow the ships on their long journeys
And explore new worlds
I can share the sailors' loneliness
And sing their sad songs with them
But above all
I am shared between the sky and the ocean
And I disappear as the sun is lost
Over the horizon line
At sunset

Twilight
I pray to the magic hidden in the twilight
The last rays of the sun slowly fade
Giving way to a blue and magenta light
Soothing and refreshing
Like a soft afternoon rain in the middle of summer
It covers everything in a thin layer, like a veil
The shadows grow longer
The skin grows paler
And at last, only white remains
This is how the night comes, with everything that hides in it

Mankind
I love looking at the sky
There is so much happening up there, above our thick skulls
All this eternal movement we tend to ignore
As we keep ourselves busy
With the fixations of everyday life
But high above us
The clouds merge into abstract shapes
The sun's rays cast shadows over land and sea
Countless shades of blue and magenta battle a soft vanilla sky
The mysterious twilight flirts with the majestic blue hour
The liberating dawn blazes into sunrise
And beneath all this grand and elegant movement we live
Rushing about like panicked ants in a disturbed nest

The Alchemy of Words
Beyond my powers and my being
These three words I keep
The ones that move mountains
And shatter obstacles
Able to bring tears and laughter
Spoken so many times
But most of them in vain
Did you really mean them?
No, I didn't
Did you believe in them?
Yes, I did
They've been put in our mouth
Long before we were able to speak
They were said to us
Long before we were able to hear
And as we grow older
They fade
Or they rekindle
Like the emerging body of a phoenix
Do you really mean them?
Yes, I do
Do you believe in them?
Yes, I do
Just these three words, said and meant
"I love you"
Shouted so loud
By every molecule of my body
Were able to cross continents
Reignite the fire
And find you

Winter Nights
The nights here are so different, cold and wet
With the scent of burned wood
The streets reflect the car lights like black mirrors
Leaving trails of light as they pass by
Like a long exposure photo
In the calm of the night
The flash of my lighter spreads a dim light around me
The cigarette's smoke blends with the aroma of my peppermint tea
Giving a festive aspect to this long forgotten ritual
It's cold and wet
My frozen fingers bring the cigarette to my lips
But my heart is warm with the fire of love
Winter is here
But my heart beats to the rhythm of my summer love

The Key
He looked closely at the small gold key she wore around her neck.
"What does it mean?" he asked.
"I've worn this key for as long as I can remember. You could say the key and I are the same age, and we've shared everything. It has been wherever I've been and seen whatever I've seen. But there is one great difference between us: every day I grow older, while it remains untouched by time. I'm afraid that one day we'll be parted, because it will go on existing when I no longer do."

Alive
The light, this Sunday
It's so bright and warm
The clear blue sky
The laughter of the children
The warm yellow of the leaves
The love that grows in my heart
Everything radiates
I radiate
Light and love
I'm alive
Alive in the way that life is alive
My heart shines
With the flare of a thousand suns
And beats to the notes
Of every cell in my body
Like a golden harp
I thank every molecule in the air
For this moment
That will last only a moment
Until the next one
This is my Thanksgiving
